Grant Cycle Suspended for 2010

The Board of Directors has suspended the Foundation’s grant process for a second year to allow assets to recover from the economic downturn. The Board will consider resuming traditional grant making for 2011 later this year. The Foundation continues to support Gaston Career Climb, its major, multi-year philanthropy initiative to train Gaston County’s workforce.

 Welcome!
The Carrie E. and Lena V. Glenn Foundation was established in 1971 by two Gaston County, North Carolina sisters, one a public school teacher and the other a librarian.  Since 1972, we have sought to provide charitable contributions where “they are needed the most and will do the most good,” - the only guidance Carrie and Lena Glenn ever gave to the Foundation’s board members.

Our vision is to be a leader in the philanthropic community by facilitating tangible, positive change in Gaston County at the root cause level and by closely adhering to our directive to put money “where it is needed most and will do the most good."

 Our Mission

Our mission is to promote and support the charitable spirit of the Glenn sisters by helping people in our community through grants for religious, health, educational, cultural, and other needs.
